Biography

The possibility of capturing fleeting, impermanent moments in the dynamic stream of time with a camera has been a part of life since learning to process and print black and white images in my fathers garden shed, using an enlarger made from plywood, a household tungsten light bulb with an old bellows, and lens from a 1930s camera.

This home grown seed has been nurtured over time, and coupled with a lifelong passion for travel, the beauty of nature and the mystery of the obscure it has enabled the compilation of a library of images over the last 30 years. Photography is a dynamic learning process enabling the photographer to learn more about technique, composition, lighting and feel as the images are taken and reflected upon.

In reality the equipment and technology are secondary to the opportunity of capturing an image at the moment the eye sees it - sometimes these instances are gone in blink of an eye and missed, sometimes we can point and shoot with a pocket camera, sometimes we are lucky and have SLRs and lenses ready to shoot ...

Travel has povided great opportunities for new vision, different light and thise vastly varied fleeting Cartier-Bresson moments....
